What the fellowship asks.
Open to strong students anywhere — but it runs in person, in Berkeley, and it runs hard.
Location
In person, in Berkeley.
Students from any school are welcome — but the work happens on the ground. You’ll need to be in Berkeley for it.
Hours
20+ hours a week.
Twenty is the floor. Longer is possible, and preferred.
Intensity
Deep, focused work.
Intense enough that it’s hard to carry alongside anything but your coursework.
Eligibility
Juniors and up.
Master’s and PhD students welcome. Exceptional sophomores considered — but rarely.
Thesis
A path into a master’s.
